Welcome to the blogsite for the brand new ‘HistoryLab: SouthWest’. Our goal is to help bring history researchers, of various levels, closer together within our region. We hope to organise events and encourage communication between history researchers, who can often become terribly isolated figures.
‘HistoryLab: SouthWest’ has been set up to build a central networking hub for historians researching and working in the South West. The South West area currently includes history research centres at BathSpa, Bristol, Exeter, Gloucester, the Open University, Plymouth and UWE.
Anyone interested in History Research is able to take part. History Research can include Ancient History and the Classics and anyone working on historical aspects of any other academic disciplines (i.e. Geography, Literature, Sociology).
We have a Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=98240059887), email address (swhistorylab@hotmail.com) and JISCmail list (SWHistoryLab@jiscmail.ac.uk) to keep people up to date with our activities. This will also allow you to use us for publicizing and circulating what you are attending or setting up.
We want to use this website for housing an open access index of contacts and you can use it to link your profile, or create a brand new one. Perhaps even publish articles or works in progress that you’d like to discuss with other historians.
